New standard for HTML
HTML5 is the fresh and new standard for HTML. It is a ubiquitous platform for web found to be more useful for the mobile web developers, enterprises with specific needs and individuals, who love playing games in web. The previous version of HTML came in 1999. It was the HTML 4.01 and since then the browsing experience has changed a lot. HTML does not belong to any specific organisation. It has been developed by a community of people across the world. HTML5 has made the web platform even more powerful in various areas like offline, storage, connectivity, file access, semantics, audio/video, presentation, performance and 3D/graphics.
Other interesting new features included in HTML5 were the canvas element for 2D drawing, support for local and offline storage, video and audio elements for media playback, new content-specific elements and new form controls like calendar, date, time, search and e-mail. HTML5 is the collaboration of World Wide Web Consortium and Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group. Certain rules were introduced before HTML5 such that the new features should be based upon HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Also HTML5 should reduce the need for external plug-ins and it should be device independent. HTML5 should have better error handling and the development process should be visible to the public. High performance 2D/3D graphics, offline storage and socket-based networking lets create modern games like never before. HTML5 is expected to bring substantial benefits for all types of companies because of its simplicity, cost, security, mobility and flexibility. HTML5 is not officially a standard yet and so no browsers completely support HTML5 in them. But that doesn’t stop it from being used in the browsers. Because of its astonishing features and popularity, HTML5 is used in almost all major browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer.
